Registration from an Email was created by robcey
Hi Cyril,

Is it possible for a group to be sent an email with a link to accept registration for an event.

Thanks
Rob

Hello Rob, as i'm currently working on registration improvement and addtional features for registration system (3.7.x serie), could you detail more what you would like to accomplish (concrete example maybe ?) ?

Eg. what do you mean by "group" and about "accept" ? (confirmation, or already created registration by you for one user, needing a user confirmation?)

Thank you! ;-)

Best regards,
Cyril

Hi Cyril,
I thought I'd check if there were any updates and saw my reply was missing? I should have looked sooner!
Please see the email attachment I sent in response to your questions.
NOTE I changed the extension

File Attachment:

File Name: RESPAMRegi...lish.zip
File Size:124 KB
from msg to zip so it could be attached. The file is an Outlook email so will need to be changed back to msg,
Please let me know if you are unable to open it and what would be the best email address to forward it to.
Regards
Rob

Hi Cyril,

Sorry - the attachment is an Outlook email with another attachment.

I've printed both to PDF and reattached - Hope this helps?

Alternatively change the extension from the previous attachment:
From RESPAMRegistrationfromanEmailiCagenda-English.ZIP
To RESPAMRegistrationfromanEmailiCagenda-English.MSG

Regards
Rob

Hello,

It's ok now for attachments ;-)

Not sure to full understand, so i will sum up what i think you request if possible :
- You want a user to register, and this registration to be pending (not "published")
- You want user to click in the mail, and auto login to the website, and that will validate and publish the registration.

I am right ?

Best regards,
Cyril

Hi Cyril,

I think I understand what you are asking and perhaps the first step is not needed.

Assumptions:
The Event is Published
The Event has Registrations On (bbsgc.com.au/index.php/calendar/54-indiv...ate=2017-10-22-07-33)
- This will be available for users to register
Emails have been sent to a group of Contacts/Users with link to the Published Event

With the assumptions, your second step could be completed and they will be added to the list of Participants/Registered Users for that event

Regards
Rob

Hello Rob,

Sorry for slow response...

Maybe we are talking about the same thing, but not the same way ;-)

To sum-up (if i'm right) : You want the user to register, get an email, and then click on a link to confirm its registration and then to be listed ?

Hope i understand now (if yes, so that what i said above, but in a technical-process way ;-) )

Best regards,
Cyril

Hi Cyril,
I think we are close? Perhaps I will say a different way and use an event in our calendar (19 Nov).
I have 40+ members of a club who are Joomla Contacts (Joomla Administrator/Components/Contacts).
I would like to send an iCAgenda Newsletter to all of the contacts in the Joomla category using an iCAgenda template filling in substitutions of the contact name and the event date.
When the contact selects the link, the system will log the contact in and register them as a participant for the event.
Hope I am talking the same thing for you.
Regards
Rob

Hello Rob,

Well it's clear now!

iCagenda has no system to send a newsletter to (a) Joomla user group(s), but this could be done with AcyMailing.

Now, the question will be to check a way to create a new tag to allow such process with AcyMailing and Acyba's iCagenda tags plugin.
For now, i'm focused on other developments, but i add your idea in my todo list for when i will check more the Acyba's plugin, and will see what could be improved with the help of Acyba developers (as some things could be improved in it as well as in iCagenda in order to give more possibilities).

Hope this answers your question ?

Regards,
Cyril
