Hi, the new google maps is not free at all.If if you get a 300$ for a year free, what's next.
Next to it they want all kind of billing information. As a free non-profit organisation, i don't want all our information to share there.
So is there a alternative which is absolutely freee, without all this billing API-Key mess?

Thanks a lot!

Hello,

You can read my comment here : www.joomlic.com/forum/icagenda-help-en/3...oogle-map-type#15723

Since iCagenda 3.7.2, the basic embed PAI was added as a Maps Service (2 choices now for Google Maps: embed (new) and previously used javascript API).
The Embed API (as described in information added in global options of iCagenda, if your language is up-to-date (you can set admin in English to read updated source translation)) is not limited as all other Google Maps service.

So, you can use the Embed API for now.

The billing will be a requirement for other only after 16th July.

In the linked message i've posted, i've talked about an opensource alternative to be integrated in a near future ;-)

Best regards,
Cyril

Just to let you know.
I've found Phoca Maps to be a great addidtion.
Very very easy to implement the map into the description.
Merci!

I see that now Phoca Maps use an open source map in addition to the Google Maps... This is the way i want to go too :-)

About iCagenda, i will keep the integrated system, as more easy for users than having to manage locations with another extension.
Plus: i've planned in the future a venus manager, where having map integrated will be logical! ;-)

Best regards,
Cyril

Hi Cyril, ok great that is good news.
For now if use Phoca Maps i installed the component and the plugin. Now when creating a map, i only have to click coordinates, then it show me the worldmap. Search for the address or whatever and phocamaps tkaes over the longtitude and latitude. Then when saved, the plugin code is next to it. Just copy and paste into the description in Icagenda and it's done.

Till you're ready i will use this. I know programming can take a lot of time
Thanks and take care :)
