Just have done the test, with my version of JCE media box (don't have the last version, as i still have not renew my subscription to JCE...)
And there's no conflict, it is working fine for me, popup lightbox, on the same page of the calendar.
It can be maybe mod_ariextmenu, if you can try quickly to disable it, to see if a change...
