This is an option to be added, in my todo list, but don't yet when i will add it...
For now, the best way could be to create a custom theme pack (or if only this change, to do the change again after each iCagenda update).
Then, you can add this to get the weekday:
<?php echo JHtml::date($evt, 'l', false); ?>
It uses Joomla date fonction for translation in current language.
"$evt" is the datetime variable of the current date (YY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS)
"l" is the php format for the date :
php.net/manual/function.date.php
"false" as no need to set timezone here.
Of course, needs some styling
