Hello,

hope you enjoy your sunday. I have installed this awesome plugin to my website. I have worked my way through every setting i could find, but didnt see any possibility to change the calendar color of already bookend / sold out events. The user can actually only see if a date is available if he clicks on the calendar. Does anybody know if there is a possibility to achieve this?

Hello,

What do you mean by calendar colour ?

In fact, days with event(s) in the calendar use the "category" color, as set in category options.

So, maybe this one color is not adapted to your site template design ?...

An online link could help to understand more accurately your issue ;-)

Best regards,
Cyril

Hello Cyril,

thank you for your reply. Here is the Link for my Homepage.
georg-cranau.de/index.php/kalender
The Calendar is used for my Geocache to ensure that only one group of cachers can do it a day.
On July 1st and 2nd i did a test-booking. Now I would really like the calendar on the left to change its color for a day on which no more tickets are available for a certain event.

I hope you understand my bad english :D

Hi!

I understand now!

Not possible as the background color is the category color.
But, your idea of being able to use the registration status as the background color is a good one... only if no more than 1 event per day ;-)

So, not possible today, and not sure this could be done, excepted if i create one day an option to display only one event per day in the module calendar (but not an easy development to do about the logic, as it's not a flexible way to do for all users usages... This would need a global option to limit one event per day, and in all places where such thing should be control. A thing already in thoughts, but i'm not sure this could be a good development to be done...).

Hope this answers your question ?

Best regards,
Cyril

Hello Cyril,

i do not know anything about programming joomla extensions, but isn't it possible to save a boolean variable which shows if there are any free tickets in an event? Then there could be a menu in the backend setting where the joomla administrator can change from "category color" to "sold out" or something and if the boolean variable says "no" then the color is set to any defined color and a frontend user will be able to see if his preferred date is still available. I think this would even work with more than one events per day and is in my opinion a major task for an event calendar to show if there are any free seats in an event. I would really love to see this realised one day. Anyway keep on with your awesome work and thank you!

Hi!

Keep in mind what i said about where the issue would be : multiple events on the same day (not all could have the same state for registrations left ;-) )

Regards,
Cyril

Hello Cyril,

since there is no possibility to have that feature in the near future - is there a way to hide already sold out events? In my calendar even sold out events show up and may confuse the users. For example: July 1st is sold out but it shows up in the event list.

Best regards,

Marco

Hello Marco,

There's a way, but need to create a custom theme pack, and then to paly a bit with php code (getting the registration data from sql request, to check status, and then to show/hide it)

Do you have minimum knowledge to create your own iCagenda custom theme pack, and to edit php file ?

Best regards,
Cyril

Hello,

Since 3 years, many things have evolved in iCagenda development.
So as 3.8 is on its way with many code refactory and improvements, it's better to way a few months the stable release to check about the new possibilities that will be added as some custom changes will be easier, and some other possibilities will be including as options.

Best regards,
Cyril
