one only registered users database for joomla and icagenda was created by downisthenewup

Is there any way for users interested in participating in an event listed in icagenda not do so unless first they were registered users of my joomla website? I mean, do not use two parallels users database, only one, sharing both the registered users of joomla website and icagenda. I will really appreciate your help about this.
