On 15 June 2026 I released iCagenda 4.0.8 to fix a critical vulnerability in all earlier versions.
If you haven't updated yet, please do so immediately. This vulnerability has been actively exploited since 15 June at 8 a.m. UTC, and the attacks are automated and target Joomla sites on which iCagenda is installed.
Important Note: The update closes the entry point but does not full clean up an already compromised site. If you were affected by this vulnerability before the update, the security update will remove only what could have been added in the entry point, but not what the attacker left behind and we can't monitor.
After updating to version 4.0.8, an alert message will appear if iCagenda suspects your system is affected. Please read the information in this message carefully. If you do not see this alert message after the update is complete, your system may not be vulnerable, but we cannot guarantee this.
To allow everyone time to update before the details are made public, I will provide more information later. For now, please update.
The version 4.0.8 is for Joomla 4 up to latest Joomla 6 version.
On 16 June 2026 I released a 3.9.15 version to fix the security on Joomla 3 websites (but it's more than highly recommended to update your Joomla site to at least latest 5.4 version).

Test the future of iCagenda!
iCagenda PRO 4.0.0-alpha1 is available for testing for users with a pro subscription!
4.0.0-alpha1, what's included?
This first alpha test version is compatible with Joomla 4 and 5. It includes a reworking of numerous files, a cleanup of all obsolete files used by Joomla 3, a completely redesigned participants list, a PayPal plug-in integrating API v2 and a revised display of the payment page, more fluid and pleasant to use...
In addition, I reworked the design on the admin side, for better integration with Joomla 5's Light/Dark Mode, as well as a new interface for the Dashboard and the Themes and Info pages.
On the site side, improvements are underway to enhance light/dark integration and accessibility.
New Admin Interface
PayPal API v2 and new payment page
The PayPal payment system is available in the Professional version of iCagenda.
Enable API v2 in your settings to test the new payment buttons:

Install or update to alpha 1
Test versions (alpha, beta, rc) are available to users with an active professional subscription.
This alpha version of iCagenda 4.0 is not suitable for production sites. It is for testing only.
You can download 4.0.0-alpha1 to install on your test site, whether for a new installation or an upgrade from a previous version.
Download iCagenda PRO 4.0.0-alpha1
If you have already a test site with iCagenda installed on it, in order to view update to the alpha version directly from your admin, you need to set the Minimum Extension Stability option in Installer component option.
Go to System > Update Extensions > Options (button)
Then, select Alpha for the option Minimum extension Stability.
